Cockroaches

Just because life in the place dirty, cockroaches are often regarded as a source of germs. Though insects are actually very hygienic precisely this, in fact contain potent chemicals that kill germs super.

Quoted from the Telegraph, Sunday (9/5/2010), scientists from Nottingham University revealed that cockroaches have more health risks than benefits. Recent research on campus proves that this insect contain deadly compounds to kill bacteria.

Tissue samples taken from the cockroach brain and nervous system, shows there are at least nine compounds containing toxic or poisonous to the bacteria. These compounds, even claimed to be able to kill up to 90 percent of super bacteria including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Escherichia coli.

These super-bacteria, is becoming a serious threat to world health in general, because the ability to mutate makes it increasingly resistant to existing antibiotics. In fact, the development of new antibiotics is not always easy, because sometimes even dangerous side effects of the patient.

However, of nine compounds found in the cockroach, and several species of other insects including grasshoppers, the researchers found no serious side effects for humans. Therefore, this finding has given new hope evaluated in an effort to control the growth and spread of super bacteria.

This finding is also at the same time improve the image of the pest cockroaches are always identified with the dirty environment. Actually, despite living in the trash and sewage, cockroaches including most hygienic because the industrious animals clean themselves like cats.

Some research indicates, much rather live bacteria in the human skin than on the surface of the body of a cockroach. Therefore, taking the food without washing hands, virtually identical to its gross, by eating food that has just passed a cockroach.

Even if there are health problems caused by cockroaches, the most responsible is the feces. Several compounds in cockroach feces and urine contain compounds that can trigger allergic reactions for some people, such as skin rashes and other reactions including asthma attacks ..
